Halotech Dna is a new biotechnology company, participated by Chromacell, SL and Suan Biotech FCR venture capital fund. The company is run by executive members of the venture capital firm Suanfarma Biotech SGECR. Its main focus is on Research, Development and Marketing activities within the Genetics field, i.e.:

• Assessment of the DNA fragmentation level in spermatozoa from individuals with fertilization problems.

• Assessment of the DNA fragmentation level in spermatozoa in samples from infectious patients after coincubation with antibiotics. The company's R&D is based on the Sperm Chromatin Dispersion (SCD) test, patented by the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM), which has been developed and licensed by Chromacell. Although SCD has many applications (in oncology, microbiology, stem and somatic cells), Halotech Dna focuses primarily on developing kits for assessing the DNA fragmentation level in spermatozoa, which is extremely useful in the assisted reproduction field.

Halosperm	Halosperm / Halomax are methodologies based on the Sperm Chromatin Dispersion in test (SCD) technology. This technology give rise to two different morphologies in the spermatozoa depending on the presence or absence of haloes of chromatin dispersion which is highly correlated with the level of DNA fragmentation as assessed using other technologies.
